Discuss > Brett Did Nothing Wrong- LionĀ Info
Hey PAt, BAhhhhh, BAhhhhhh..
Favre did, believe what you want. Brett's still a whine ass cry baby media whore. The packers, sniffle. WAAAAAAAAAAAA, hurt my sniff, feelings.. WAAAAAAA i gave all I could to football and I can give no more, until next month when I want ot play again of course. WAAAAA...
Truth, the only thing truthful about you is your fake name. How you can carry so much hate is scary.
I'll be the first to admit Brett may be arrogant, I had a close encounter with Brett (my kids were with me) that if I was a man that was as unforgiving as you, I would be a Brett hater.
But his private life and his football life are separate, and I must repect that, as much as I wished it was different.
I still sit here amazed that the majority of fans can't seem to understand that after 4 preseason games, 16 regular season games, and the playoffs that Brett could possibly have been burnt out. The physical toll, the mental toll, especially the last game(-30 windchill) that literally knocked the snot out of Favre. You saw it on his face running into his mouth, and you saw it on his face in his expressions.
At age 38 he just wanted to take some time off, but no, we can't give a 38 year old football player who never missed a start in 16 years that break. Got to have an answer, Got to have it now!
Brett's sin! He had a change of heart. He changed his mind. He wanted to finish what was started in 2007. But No. Instead of a big welcome, let's win it all, lets go out like Elway! The Packers organization spit in his eye. They tried to manipulate things. make it go away, keep him out of Green Bay, keep him out of the NFL.
Or on the other hand they could have made the unthinkable at the time, but bold move and quickly traded Brett or released him. But no! We don't have those kind of balls!
TT with his puppets made it personal, so now its personal.
So what!, Its life, Look at your behavior on these blogs, and yet you stand in judgement?
Hypocrats everywhere!
By the way Glaser held the information back several weeks waiting for the rigth momment? He never quotes his sourcs? It appears that he has taken 1+2 =4. Taking evidence of a converstation and creating the rest of the story based on conjecture, that why else would they talk. Taking a morsel of truth and making up the rest of the story.
Truth in foosball (Andrew we can tell it's you when you stomp your feet and start to BAAAAAAA), go back to your real name!! BTW, Why does your man love for Aaron makes you so jealous.
Not sure who Andrew is, but he sounds like a hell of a of a guy. Rick, nice story. But Brett still retired man. He's done. get over ot.
Rick, what was you negative interaction with Favre. I would like to hear it.
Don't worry about people thinking less of Favre. The Favre haters already have their mind made up.
Yeah, I'm interested to hear more of your "Favre Encounter". I ran into him in Daytons at the Fox River Mall in '95 w/Brian Noble and Nobles wife (who slipped in the store and could have sued us but she was cool as hell). Don't worry, Favre cannot be as big a tool as Chris Jackie is (met him at The Top Shelf when he was in GB).
To Rick and Pat: just because many of us don't care for Favres attitude in recent years, this doesn't translate into us blindly agreeing w/everything Thompson does/says. It's the general attitude amongst "Favre Fans" that he can do no wrong which really gets me. Maybe the Pack didn't handle this situation well, but Favre is far from blameless. Favre has held the Pack hostage for 3-4 years now which did hamper their drafting of new talent. The Lions story has a large element of truth to it as most sports media outlets fawn over Favre and yet this story won't go away. The Lions "no comment" on this is telling. If this turns out to be 100% true, this is really sad. "Madden Curse"?
Unlike some others on the board I can agree to dis-agree w/you.
Go Raiders, fair enough.
I'm glad you separate yourself from some of these twisted screwballs.
So you Legend lovers actually beleive what Favre said in his presser on Wednesday? Did you happen to watch it. Anyone watching that thing that didn't have Favre colored glasses on could tell he was lying through his teeth. First the report was "total BS", then it was "just him and Millen talking hunting and a little Packer football." What is it losers? And now the internal ESPN "DO NOT REPORT" memo comes out and yet you still blindly follow this bitter old QB. ESPN reported on Bonds, Gretsky, Palmero, Pacman, etc, etc when they came out and said "total BS" to whatever negative report came out about them, why not Favre. I'll tell you why, Brett has given them thousands of sound bites and interviews so now they will bias thier reporting just to save his name and thier relationship. They are the biggest hypocricy reporting sports today.
And your justifications that "the Packers beat the Lions" doesn't hold water either. What if the Packers lost that game, then what? Bottom line, he is bitter and conniving, and you all are blinded by his glory.
Oh, and in case you forgot, Jay glazer reported in Feb 2008 that Favre was retiring, Favre responded with "It's total rumor", three weeks later he cried on national TV, Glazer reported in July that Favre was planning a comeback, Favre responded with "It's total rumor", two weeks later the soap opera began, now Glazer reports that Favre talked to the Lions, Favre responds with "It's total BS," four days later he comes out with "We were just talking about hunting, and the subject switched to Packers football." I know who I would trust with a story, and it isn't the old bitter Legend.
You continue thinking he is the good ol' boy that he portrays, but his actions in July and now with this "Favregate" thing tell most normal people all they need to know.
Now if can just find a few more normal people!
No, what you want are more people with the same Legend blinders on....to justify your ridiculous, far fetched lunatic excuses. Keep searching, it's getting harder now that most have seen the light.
This whole ordeal is becoming beyond ridiculous. Favre first "strongly denied" the story in his text message to NBS, then it became he and Millen talked about hunting which turned into talk about football. He also said there was "nothing wrong in his talk w/Millen" and he "suspected Millen wasn't alone during the chat".
O.K., maybe he didn't violate any league rules which is fine by me as I'm sure when a player gets traded he spills his guts to his new team. What I don't get is how Favre seems to hedge on the truth on this. It calls into question many of his other remarks on other issues were his credibility could be called into question.
What really sucks is ESPN's "Do Not Report" memo. This just makes the whole issue even look worse. What, Favre might not give them an interview?
*Side note to the people who post "bitches"- It is possible to disagree w/o using language which only makes your argument, and you, laughable.
Go Raiders, solid post. You raise good questions.
I'm still one of the biggest Favre supporters but depending on what the truth really is, I can see why people would think less of Favre after this.
Also, thanks for echoing my sentiment on "bitches".
You know I only threw the Bitches in there to annoy people and I knew someone would say something about it. Looks like it worked.
BITCHES!!!!!
Rick, just curious but how do you know that Jay just "took a morsel of truth and made up the rest of the story?" I mean, we still do not know what actually happened here, or is it since Brett came out and denied it you entirely believe that it didn't happen? If that's the case than you would be the "hypocrite" that you call many others, as you only chose to play the "we don't know if its true" card when it was a story that made Brett look bad.
Either way, I'm not sure I care anymore about this story anymore, I have bigger fish to fry...
He can't quote a source, date, or times.
He held on to the information for weeks waiting for the right moment?
You guys can't or won't see through that??
Rick, he quotes his source(s) as people inside the Lions camp, he sites the date which he got the information as the week after the Packers played the Lions, but once again, you are right, he doesn't, nor was he ever asked about what time he talked to his sources.
He also said that he waited to report on this because of the seriousness of the story, and he wanted to be "1000% sure" he had an accurate account. Sounds like good reporting to me....make sure you have the facts, make sure your story is not a lie, and print it. Did you miss that in your comprehensive review of the facts.
I also find it funny how only you, being a Favre apostle, thinks its bad to wait on a story....because who was it now that was on the phone to ESPN mere minutes after every meeting he had with the Packers....oh yeh, the Legend. Keep the blinders on.......
Some guy, I almost feel sorry for you. You don't have to be a master psychologist to tell you have serious issues. Nobody who has ever been taught anything as a kid would feel the need to be so vulgar on every post.
My 6 year old and 4 year old were just taking about the "time out chair" at school. They mentioned one naughty kid who was loud and threw things. I think you are still that kid in your own world.
Go get a paci and you blanky and take a nap.
Maybe you are eating too much sugar cereal. Cut back on the Cocoa Puffs.
Unblinded?
Your answer is so vanilla. You also can not offer up any information regarding sources. He quotes nameless sources?
Because they don't exist.
Obviously, someone knew Matt Millen and Brett talked, just as Brett has said. Where is the smoking gun? If there was any actual facts or depth to this story, tust me, some one would have spilled their guts. A reporter would have flushed out an actual interview with a source.
All we got is 3rd party hearsay, and that my folks is inaddmissable evidence. Only a fool would have leaked out this unsubstanciated story?
Only a bigger fool would buy into and believe this nonsense.

I was quick to believe the Glaser report about Favre. Maybe, I was wrong.
Just got done reading the ESPN story with Favre giving his side of the story. I believe him.
He has been misrepresented several times and this seems to be the latest. Examples:
He never used a Packer cell phone to call the Vikings back in the summer. The Favre haters tried to make him look stupid. He never owned a Packers issued cell phone.
He did not call Tony Romo. Tony Romo called him. The Favre haters try to make him look like a busy body who can't wait to stick his nose in somebody else's business.
Matt Millen called him about hunting and they talked about football.
Favre gave them nothing of value and didn't seek them out. Sorry, you conspiracy anti-Favre idiots.
This is why I am no longer a Packer fan until something drastic like TT is gone.
The Packers hired Ari Fliescher to head the Spin Doctoring this summer and it appears the Spin Doctors are still at it. Eat it up Sheep.
