Discuss > Favre and the Jets Do ItĀ Again!

Favre led the Jets to a very convincing, dominating performance of the 9-0 Titans. He was 25-32 with 2 TD's- very solid.

I wish the Playoffs started next week, because right now the Jets may very well be the best team in the NFL. Who is better?

Its interesting that the Titans represent a recent common opponent of both the Jets and Packers. Both teams played the Titans in Nashville. The Packers came up short in a close game. The Jets DOMINATED.

Favre is the ingredient that gives the Jets the extra chemistry they need to become a top tier team - a team that can challenge for the Super Bowl. I've said it before, but the Jets have the feel the Packers used to have.
TT let that ingredient go. What a moron!

The only thing TT had right is that he knew that he didn't want to face Favre and that's why he shipped Favre to what he thought was the worst deal he could stick Farve with...Farve responds by being the biggest reason the Jets are heading for the playoffs!

Hopefully the Packers flop tommorrow night so it highlights what idiots Packer Mgmt.are!

Woops, the Titans were 10-0. (now 10-1)

November 23, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterPat

Woops is right. They played like crap.

I'll admit I loved watching the Titans get taken down a peg yesterday. Every time I see Jeff Fisher (sp?) on the sidelines I get that picture in my head of Buddy Ryan swinging at Fisher, some say Gilbride, on the Oilers sidelines many moons ago.

I still will not understand why some here want the Packers to lose games. I understand your arguments with management, but it does look as if you weren't a Packer fan at all.

I have a ton of respect for Bart Starr. He did, and continues to do, a lot for Wisconsin. Favre on the other hand, he did do a lot for Beansnappers. I respect Favre the player, but Favre the person is not someone worthy of respect. For every reason Favre backers can point to management for what happened, there is an equal amount of blame which can be laid at Favres doorstep. Maybe the Packers are looking disorganized at times this season due to the distraction caused during training camp? In my opinion, Favre has gotten a pass on too many issues.

Brett is making a go of the Jets offense. The recievers are slow compared to Jennings and Driver. They rarely get any separation from the defenders.

Brett after throwing to many interceptions has adjusted to their capabilities and has shortened up the passing game.

The Jets running game is way better than last year! Hmm ? same guys running. Is it the Favre effect ! More room to run when the defense repects the QB.

I guess the F.... Farve haters will have to dig deeper to come up with thereasons for Jet wins. Before it was lack of tough opponents... Like the 10-1 Titans or the 7-4 Patriots back to back.

Is that not the same Titans that sacked and sacked and sacked..... Aaron Rodgers. Oh ya thats right, the Titans were off form yesturday.

Why not admit it.. Brett makes a difference. Just think if the Packers had let Brett pay for 50% of Randy Moss's salary, he could have gone out like Elway with back to back Super Bowls. Brett knew it, and he was right.

Ted Thompson was not committed to winning now, and Brett did not have the time to wait for the rebuilding.

I have accepted that Brett is gone, and the Packer fans have missed out on the opportunity to see Brett go out on those terms. It would have been a sweet ride.

And don't tell me that we would not have beaten the Giants last year if we had added Moss, and perhaps one or two other playmakers to go along with the nice depth that TT has put together.

November 24, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick

Leon Washington Rick. Not the same group. Plus a rebuilt line. Do a bit of research before you jsut start making stuff up.

November 25, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

John, you just can't handle the truth.

However granting you your statement.

You should be questioning why the Packers chose not to strenghten thier line up, especially in light of all the money they had under the Cap.

Even after giving Aaron 1/2 the available Cap money, the Packers still chose to sit on a bundle.

You need playmakers to go with the depth.

November 25, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick

You just dodged the point Rick. Yes, I agree with you though that the Packer's should have done something about there line. It has been sad. I also think that Cullen Jenkins going down has really killed us.

The reason that the Packer's are sitting on money is been touched on several times actually in the press. They aren't the only team that is doing it. With a strong potential of the salary cap being lifted in the next couple of years as well as a failing economy a small market team such as the Packer's needs to act more like a business.

I understand you are a bit more inclined to jsut spout of random thoughts rather then facts because you believe they are right, but there is reasoning behind this and again they arent the only one's doing this. It has been more then apparent that many teams have left considerable money on the table this year.

November 25, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

You are a Packers fan, I will grant you that.
You fall for all the propaganda, hook, line, and sinker.

November 25, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick

Wow you are a moron Rick. This came from the national press. It was the national analysts speaking in regards to many of the teams, not just the Packers you dumb fuck.

November 26, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

John, don't argue with Rick, his mind is clouded by visions of massaging his golden Favre statue in his basement. The only thing he sees trotting out onto the field during Jets games is Favre, and that was the only thing he saw while Favre was in GB. He is no better than FSPN and thier continued love fest with Favre. They see only Favre on the field, and not the other players who think they are making a differnce this year with the Jets success. I think Corheiser has his hands down Favre's pants right now, and he is fighting to get a better grip with Rick.

Yes Rick, this is true. The Packers are not hording money for the sake of hording money. With no salary cap, the Packers would be hard pressed to sign anyone. And even if they did, who could they have signed this past offseason? And if you are so hellbent on having TT and MM fired, who do you want to replace them? I really want to hear your answer. Remember, Lombardi is dead and Ron Wolf is near 80.

November 26, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterUnblinded Packers Fan

Maybe the pack is hording money
because they have less coming in

No big name player

Not a winning season

Making bad business decisions

November 26, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDave K

Yeah no Dave, not the case. Nice fantasy though. It is called the collective bargaining agreement. We still sell out every game as well. Any other fantasys?

November 26, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Hey Dave, the Packers pro shop reported in October that they sold 19% more Favre jerseys during the first 6 weeks of the season than last year. Care to comment on that? Local retail stores also reported that sales of Packers merchansie OTHER than Favres rose 30% this year. Got anything there? And, as John stated, the games are still sold out, so protest the trading of the bitter legend all you want, the Packers still have your money.

Bottom line, if the collective bargaining agreement goes away, that is bad news finacially for the Packers, even if they had Favre, Starr, Montana, Brady, both Mannings and were coached by Lombardi. Please try again.

I ment nation wide sales

I do not think the Packers
are in as good graces nation wide

I am a Moron?

I assume the new definition of a moron must be an independant thinker. Who after analysing the facts draws up conclusions that make sense. Then is backed up by the results that prove his analysis be accurate.

All my predictions have come true so far this year.

But, what do I know, I am just a moron. I have managed to do so with a single swear word.

John , your need for vulgarity must come from your jealousy of choosing to line your self up with loosing side. I have found that poeple that have no defense for thier actions revert to your level.

November 27, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick Hamilton

Correction to my typo:

"without a single swear word"

November 27, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick Hamilton

No Rick, a moron is some one who does not know how to put a sentence together. "Who after analysing the facts draws up conclusions that make sense." Nice work man. A moron is someone who does not use commas in sentences and is unable to spell.

"John , your need for vulgarity must come from your jealousy of choosing to line your self up with loosing side. I have found that poeple that have no defense for thier actions revert to your level." Rick did you make it past the first grade buddy?

I do not need a lecture on my actions or my language either. My vulgarity stems from dealing with morons like you. Thanks Rick, but I have a dad, so go take care of your kids. Judging by your man crush on Favre, I think we all know which way you swing though.

November 28, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

I guess I would rather miss a comma, or spell a word wrong from time to time, than be a total jerk like you.

The high one gets from swearing and putting others down is short. Like a bad drug, the need to do it again, keeps repeating its cycle.

The high one gets by being a decent person lasts a lifetime.

November 28, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick

Wow, thanks so much for that Rick. That was really, really touching. May your curseless mouth never taste a bar of soap.

December 1, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

John, my parents shaped me with approriate disipline when I was young, set the pattern for my life before I was even 5 years old. Young enough that I don't remember the spankings.

As I aged, it only took a converstation, and leading by example. (Environment) that I was shaped to be a decent person.

I imagine you are only following a pattern shaped by your early years, so I will give you a pass, you never had a chance.

December 1, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick

Yep Rick, well apparently your parents didn't care enough to get you a solid education because you can't spell for shit.

Actually I was raised well, have a great job, and I am very happy with myself. Sorry I wasn't raised an uneducated bible-thumper like you.

December 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

You are correct. You are much better at spelling words like sh--, fu--, etc.

December 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick

Actually just words in general Rick. You can't seem to spell much of anything.

December 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

I will admit I have gotten used to spell check, and this site does not have it.

I guess I am both a little lazy in that I usually do not feel the need to go back and clean up my posts here.

Based on the nature of this site, do I really have to proof read my posts and get out the Webster's

December 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRick

No, but no one else seems to need spell check here. It gives us a sense of your overall intelligence and therefore gives us a reason to laugh at your idiotic opions as well.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

A little lazy? How about spending some time reading you a book instead of spanking you until you were five? Maybe you wouldn't have the excuse of the site not having a spell check and just know how to spell.

Better yet, stop blaming the site and use - shock - another open browser window and type it into Google. Heck, it'll probably suggest what you were trying to stab at, anyway. And all that right there at the top of the page! Sheesh, I'm not sure lazy is the right description.

There's this new thing called the internet. Stop excusing your ignorance.
