Discuss > Who should it be?

Come on Favre lovers, who should it be? You are still crying on this site after 4 months of how Favre was mistreated and lied to, and that Thompson and McCarthey should be fired. Well, who should replace them.

I am brimming with excitment and anticipation of the answers to this question.

November 26, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterUnblinded Packers Fan

Just about anybody will do.

Just as long as the coach is tougher, honest, and will actually say something in a press conference. At least more than: we need to fix our mistakes, execute better, and play at a higher pad level. Current coach makes me want to throw-up.

Replace Thompson with someone who understands that you need a blend of playmakers with depth.
Some one who wants to win every year. As long as there is a Cap, spend it. Take a chance on a player. Make the decision on someone. right or wrong is better than to not pick up anybody.
It has become obvious that to have the youngest team year after year will not work.
Save the excess money for what? Non existant dividends? Winning is the only dividend currently available for the shareholders. This is entertainment. You never get a second chance once the year is over.

Sorry, your answer doesn't cut it. I want names, not just a stupid blanket statement that "anyone" will do. Obviously you know more than anyone at 1265 Lombardi, so it shouldn't be that hard.

In case you forgot, remember when Sherman ran this team into the ground finacially, and took it from 13-3 to 4-12 in three years because of overpaid bums. Is that what you want, blind spending just to spend it? Paying players on name only.....you can't have it both ways.

Blinded Packer fan, time to start your website. "SAVETED.NET" as you blindly follow an unproven GM. He has yet to earn his green and gold stripes. You probably defended Tom Bratz as well.

December 1, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterReality

Really, Ted was GM of the year last year and built a Superbowl team in Seattle. But I suppose your "Green Bay Packer blinders" are telling you that it was Holmgren in Seattle and of course the Legend here in GB that made Ted look good. Of course you would be wrong.

I will stop defending Ted if he does not make moves this offseason to bring in veteran players on defense and offense. If and when that happens, I will be happy to admit my failure and move on. I anticipate that you on the other hand will defend your messiah no matter what he does, even if he is standing over a bloody corpse with a bloody knife in one hand and his Hall of Fame jacket in the other. Do you work for ESPN? I know your type, opposed to change and would rather talk about the past than look towards the future.

December 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterUnblinded Packers Fan

If Ted does finally earn his green and gold stripes and takes this team to the playoffs in '08 or '09, I will admit I am wrong. However, if he fails, he should resign on his own. BTW, the Hall of Famer had a lot to do with the 13-3 record last year. Some seem to think he had nothing to do with. Those fans were definitely wearing blinders.

December 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterReality

Hey Reality, Did you ever think that Mike McCarthy had a lot to do with Favre's success last year? Because if it weren't for him Favre would be back setting single-season records for INT's. That's reality. Rodger's is having a damn good year, but he, like everyone else that is young, need to grow and learn.

December 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

I would suggest and assistant coach of the
offensive line from either the
Patriots or Giants since they know how to win

Ted should be replaced by someone younger
and able to judge talent who isn't as stodgy

December 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDave K

Campbell, You obviously know nothing about the sport. If anything McCarthy needed Favre's leadership. 13-3 or 5-7?

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterReality

Yeah no Reality. I know football very well. You are looking at a simple number which tells me you know very little about football yourself. This team is giving up a record amount of points this year. Tell me how that is Aaron Rodgers fault? Tell me how it is Aaron Rodgers fault that we are giving the opponent the ball at the 35 yard line on average? Give me some actual facts to back up your statements. You know nothing turd.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

It's fun to read your idiotic ranting. Our defense the the same. The opponents have been much worse. If I were truly a turd, I'm sure you would lap me up.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterReality

Idiotic ranting! Coming from the guy who puts this sentence out there; "Our defense the the same." What does that even mean you moron? Wow are you slow or what?

Actually, we had a very tough schedule this year. Do not even give me the NFC North because we are 3-1 there dip-shit. The schedule outside of that has been very, very difficult. Facts, see that fuck-head?!

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

If you can't win the NFC North, you have nothing! How idiotic are you? Don't answer the question directly. What ever you write will do.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterReality

Who says that we won't win the NFC North? I still think we have a shot. Especially since we still play Chicago and Minnesota just lost there two best defensive linemen.

So I will answer the questions directly you fucking idiot.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Hey hey you two, you are probably neighbors and don't even know it.

I still do not have any answers to my original posted question. Come on Favre fans, you can do it. Put down the bronz statue polish and type an answer.

Maybe the fact that there isn't anyone out there better than the "Stooges" is why my question has yet to be answered. Or, maybe you are finally seeing that change can be good and the world doesn't start and end with Favre...alright, I overstepped my bounds with that comment......

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterUnblinded Packers Fan

Johnny, I knew I could count on you.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterReality

The Packers my win the division yet

MN has 3 tough games left and

the bears play the pack (this is important game)

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDave K

Trouble being no one wants to watch

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDave K

Anytime Reality. Someone has to make some valid points around here.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Wow said that Dave K? I watch the games every week along with the "Packer Faithful."

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Sorry, I meant Who said that Dave K?

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

I take it by the lack of posts with any well thought answers to my question that the Favre faithful just want Ted and Mike fired because they wronged thier messiah. They would rather see the team ran by the ghosts of past Packer greats than actually have someone in 1265 who knows what they are doing. I get it, continue to worship your legend losers.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterUnblinded Packers Fan

Many

We would like to see leaders in the order
of Harlan

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDave K

I just see a couple bitter clowns like you Dave K. Most people are still fans and either way. Harlan retired man, get over it jesus.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Maybe it should be Sean Payton from New Orleans lol. He just whip Mike lol. Didnt you guys have a chance to hire him?

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterdavid

Yeah and Sean Payton is not doing a good job down there right now. Can you even speak clearly david?

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

I can remember a particular mnf game in which Mr Sean Payton did a heck of a lot better than your boy Mike? Mike's no coach? He couldn't lead a class of kindergardners to a candy store much less lead a group of professional athletes? He's a puppet on Teddy's strings

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDavid

13-3 last year was pretty good I would assume. What did Sean Payton do last year again? I am thankful we have McCarthy. He is going to be our coach for a long, long time so get used to it.

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Excellent point John! Your right! One question though, what's changed since last year with the packers? What major off season move did ted and mike make buddy?

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDavid

The Packer's played good defense last year. That is the main factor. Rodger's is having a better year then Favre is this year and is playing well. We are giving up to many points . . . period. Favre does not play defense you moron.

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

You really don't know much about football beyond Brett Favre do you David? It's absolutely hilarious to listen to these debates with people who have no clue beyond there man crush, the almight King, Brett Lorenzo Favre. All Hail! All Hail! Bow down to the great King Favre. Give me a freaking break.

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Moron? Man that was original John? Sounds like someone got painted in a corner and when the glaring truth hit you in the face he got mad and took his little ball and went home lol....Dude its not about Brett being almighty or a god or anything like that....He's a future hall of fame player and for an organization to treat a 16 year future hall of fame veteran like they did him sends a huge message to your other veteran players about the direction of the organization man...

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDavid

Same to Brett. They did alot for him, paid him millions of dollars and he was not innocent. Just because you are an icon does not give you the right to start acting the way he did. I was done with him as soon as he did the Greta Van Sustrain interview. It was class-less and he should have gone that route after he came in and meet with McCarthy and Ted Thompson. I am glad they sent that message, because Favre got a bit to high and mighty and deserved what he got.

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

What exactly did he "get" John?

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDavid

Banished from the Packer's David.

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Like I said John What did he get? You say that like thats turned out to be a bad punishment for Brett? He's still winning and having fun doing it and He's being treated like the future hall of famer he is.

December 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDavid

Legacy

TT trades away MVP possible

Brett takes another team to playoff
because he came back from retirement

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJim b

LOL, you are a fun ny guy David. So clueless. You don't read the papers much do you?

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Favre MAY have the Jets in the playoffs this year, however, you can not say the same if he stayed here in GB! And I am not going to speculate on what their record would be if he was here, but I can say one thing. After seeing him perform in the big games last year, a change was needed. It is just too bad that most Packers fans are crack addicts when it comes to players and they can't see the good that change can bring. The Packers made a bold move sending Favre on his way, we will see what happens. But to fire everyone because Favre is not here is just shortsighted and stupid in my opinion. It shows the depth of the Legend trance you are still in.

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterUnblinded Packers Fan

No I don't which paper should I read little buddy?

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDavid

It's the NFL. All the games are big. He helped win 14 big games. GB has won 5 this year. GB would be, without a doubt, 8-4 right now.

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterReality

LOL, "without a doubt, 8-4 right now." How can you even make that statement and throw "without a doubt" in there. You really need to take your Brett Favre blinders off.

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Hey Reality, present me with a game that the current GB QB lost this year. Please enlighten me with your vast knowledge. I can present you with 3 that the former QB here in GB lost last year. That is at the heart of the problem with you people. You can't see past the glare of the Legend. I am willing to bet that you were shouting from rooftops when the Majic man went down about how the Packers were going to continue to suck. Then look what happened. Favre's actions in March, then in July, and all the controversy over the Lions debacle are just more examples of the mental midget that is Favre. He basically threw up his middle finger to Packer fans, and you are so blinded by his aura that you still can't see that.

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterUnblinded Packers Fan

Most of these people weren't fans until they won a Super Bowl I bet.

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

I dont see Aaron a MVP candidate

Brett is

Maybe Aaron doesnt loose games but
he sure didnt help to win the 7 they lost

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterdave

Brett is not a MVP candidate. Not even top ten. You don't win MVP's when you throw that many INT's. Easy there slugger.

December 5, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Campbell

Here you go Dave - from SI; See Favre anywhere in there douchebag?

MVP
1. Eli Manning, QB, Giants (Ranking last week, 5): If a quarterback is ultimately measured by his ability to win games, then Manning's ascension to the top of the MVP race should not be a surprise. The reigning Super Bowl MVP has guided the Giants to the league's best record (11-1) while producing career-best totals in passer rating, completion percentage and yards per attempt.

2. Clinton Portis, RB, Redskins (2): He has earned the respect of the league with his gutty play this season. Though he has been plagued by a balky knee for most of the year, Portis has reeled off six 100-yard games and tallied his best yards-per-carry average (4.8) since becoming a Redskin in 2004.

3. Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings (NR)

4. Kurt Warner, QB, Cardinals (1): The former two-time league MVP suffered his worst performance of the season at the hands of the Eagles. With the team in the midst of a two-game losing streak, Warner will need to raise his level of play to keep the Cards from falling apart down the stretch.

5. Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys (NR): The return of the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback has energized a Cowboys' offense that sputtered in his absence. Romo has guided the team to a 7-2 mark this season and has topped the 300-yard passing mark in six of his nine games. If Romo can successful guide the Cowboys through a rough December schedule, he may wind up stealing the trophy at season's end.

The pack may loose 2 more games this year

I expect no change in record next year
