Jets Know a Good Thing When They See It

From Variety: "... by Thursday afternoon, New York Jets tickets topped the list of searches -- for the week -- at the ticket resale website StubHub. Sideline field-level tickets, which have a face value of $105, for Favre's first game in the Meadowlands -- Sept. 14 vs. the Patriots -- were going for at least $400 a seat. Last week, tickets could be had for less than $200."

Add to this the fact that NewYorkJets.com received so many hits that it crashed and sold nearly 4,000 Favre jerseys in the first 24 hours and you can see that the Jets and their fans know a good thing when they see it.  Meanwhile, all was quiet in Green Bay.

I am soooo happy that they appreciate what they got! They could not have gotten a more hardworking, dedicated, down to earth man. Kudos to you New York Jets! Our loss is obviously your gain. ENJOY!

I, too, am so happy that they are treating Brett the way he should be treated. It is a good day today, reading all these good things for a change. I wish Brett and the Jets the best. All the way to the Super Bowl! You can do it, Brett. Show TT. Pat

Jets are a class act. hope they are on Tv a few times because thats the only games iam watching. How much money are the packers going to lose letting favre go? how much money did brett make the packers?? any idiot except the three stooges and their coup d ca can see this move of getting rid of brett is going to cost this club money and free agent signings in the future. How did we every get stuck with the three stooges anyway.

The "Three Stooges" happened to rebuild our team from 4-12 to 13-3. Well, not Murphy. and no it wasn't all Brett. One person can't make a team.

and how is trading Brett going to cost club money? I am not sure if this is correct but I am pretty sure that when we traded him, it saved us cap room since he doesn't have a contract with us anymore.

and by the way..Three Stooges? Good riddance. Quit acting like kids and calling people names. How immature.

It costs the club money in retail which is a huge buisness in sports. Its funny cause it use to cost alot of money to see a Packers game in other venues now it dosn't cost any more than say the Falcons. But it now will cost you an arm and a leg to get tickets when the Jets are visiting different stadiums.

Favre is the #1 marketing football player in history and that came straight from CNBC.

Yeah, look at how fast the orders for Jet Favre jerseys have come in. Including one for me.

I'm from NJ and have only been to one Jets game in my life, and that was to see Joe Montana play. So you get the point that I was never a Jets fan, not even a Giants fan for that matter. I was a Packers fan however, and I'm so disgusted about how this whole thing went down. After hearing TT and MM speak on ESPN it is clear that they are a couple of buffoons!! My take is that McCarthy wants to run things HIS way and he can only do that if Favre's not there.

Anyway, it still hasn't hit me yet that I'll be watching Brett Favre every week as he is the most exciting QB to watch in all of the NFL. I'm sorry that Green Bay lost him and I hope the NY media circus and annoying drunken fans treat him well and appreciate what they have. So far so good!

Anna:

I hope so and I"m happy for you being a long-distance Packer fan that you'll get to see Brett play locally at least. However, I am seeing some of his press-conference words being minced already by the "press" out there. I hope that they remember he is the greatest QB to play the game; not Jesus Christ who performs miracles and guarantees Super Bowls. I think he will take the Jets to the playoffs; after that? Anybody's guess. I just hope that he outshines Rodgers in every capacity. A man with Brett's talent playing with something to prove is very dangerous. If he keeps his interceptions down, he will have a monster year statistically.

Troy,
Yes, I'm seeing the media mincing already too and it makes me sick and embarrassed to live here. I don't know what is wrong w/ them! The expectations for all NY sports teams are way too high! I wonder how Favre will handle these goons!

The Jets have been SO horrible for SO long but if they spent 140 million on the offense for this season they should be a lot better. I'll be sick if I have to watch Favre getting beaten on!

Honestly I don't know how the Packers could expect much from Rodgers being that he's never started a game. And why were they wanting to run Favre out of the league completely? I just don't get it. They just about traded him away for nothing!

faire TT MM MM (the three stooges)

August 11, 2008 | Unregistered Commentergunny

sorry FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

August 11, 2008 | Unregistered Commentergunny

Well Anna, McCarthy is the coach. He can run things the way he wants. Just because Brett is there doesn't mean he has to run it according to Favre. If Favre wants to run the team, he can become GM but he is a player and his focus should be on playing football.

So what if Rodgers hasn't started every game. Brett sucked his first two years and everyone has grown to love him.

and gunny,

Your the fourth stooge.

J-man your a TT coke sucker

August 16, 2008 | Unregistered Commentergunny

Well J-Man, McCarthy is on a power trip and I think he did run things to revolve around Favre.

I said Aaron hasn't started ANY games in the NFL, which by-the-way makes him more prone to crack under pressure. I don't think fans will fall in love w/ him at all. In fact, I don't think he'll last too long in Green Bay. Replacing a legend is not that simple. Just look at the 49ers-one of the few teams that got lucky having a back-up in Steve Young to replace Joe Montana. But he went down soon after Montana was traded and they haven't been able to find a reliable starting QB since then. The 49ers were a great team for a long time and now look at them!

TT, MM, and the other one think they're really slick running Favre out but this will come back to bite them! It will take a good long time to replace Favre...they just haven't realized it yet.
